Our board is currently in the process of identifying new projects. We are always researching new ways to provide organized relief across the globe. What makes us unique is seeking the highest levels of accountability, transparency and direct involvement possible.
Please contact us with any project proposals that the MAJOR Fund should support.
To support the earthquake survivors in Nepal, MAJOR has funded Tulip Table Top water filters, providing 2500 people in the areas of Dhading and Nuwakot districts in the Bagmati zone with clean water
Our second project with RainCatcher was completed. Clean and safe drinking water is now being provided to this primary school in Uganda with over 500 children.
TEIKHA RAMA NUNNERY
The first project that we have completed is a clean water project for an orphanage in Myanmar called Teikha Rama Nunnery. Teikha Rama Nunnery is in North Dagon with 100 orphan girls and boys and 200 day student boys and girls from the neighboring communities. Our project will provide clean, safe drinking water to the orphanage and school.
ELECTRICITY FOR REFUGEES
We are excited to announce that we are at approximately 70% of our goal to fund solar lights/mobile chargers for recent refugees. Electricity is in short supply for safe, clean lighting for them to use at night. Charging cell phones that serve as a lifeline for locating and staying in touch with separated family members is extremely challenging. The cost of the technology is $40 and includes shipping, distribution, and teaching the users on how to operate and maintain the technology.
Your participation can help take a difficult situation and make it more livable. Contributions of all sizes are needed.
DRINK UP FAISALABAD
Pakistan suffers from poor quality drinking water and poor sanitation. Kopernik is connecting NECTAR water filters with students from Laila and Amar Model School in Sultan Town, Faisalabad, Pakistan. More than 600 students will receive clean and safe drinking water.
MAKING CHILDBIRTH SAFER
We recently raised 100% of the funding to start the field work on our joint project with Kopernik to provide JANMA clean birth kits in isolated regions of Odisha and West Bengal, in Eastern India. These kits will help protect the lives of 4000 mothers and their newborn babies.
